Greers Ferry Lake July Events

Sorry to be late on the updates, folks! My daughter's summer activities have kept us hopping in the month of June. I wanted to update everyone on July's Greers Ferry Lake events. There had been some question as to whether or not Heber Springs would host it's annual Fireworks Extravaganza this year due to lack of sponsorship, however, the show will go on and is scheduled for Saturday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m. from Sandy Beach.

The other annual event in July is the World Championship Cardboard Boat Races scheduled for July 25 at Sandy Beach. If you have never seen this event then you need to boat over to Sandy Beach that day and check it out. I can honestly say that it is one of the funniest occurrences on the lake. Watching a bunch of grownups paddle around the beach in a race to not only beat each other, but beat the odds that their boats will saturate and sink, is a testament to the spirit of we lake-lovers! We can find all kinds of things to do on Greers Ferry. In the past, this event has been aired by ESPN and The Discovery Channel.
